SAU1 blog post 4 : Redifining and Living The Word Patience

 What is patience? I think it means that you can tolerant the infection from others, stay calm and have a clear mind with peace.

  I must to say that I'm not a patient person. I can't  endure waiting for long line to get a stuff,even it's really good. I will be anxious if my partner or team don't have a clear idea or schedule. I can not focus on one thing for long time. My hobby and interesting always change. 

  That makes me feel upset and sometimes I hate myself being so annoy. Everything needs patience. I realize patience is really important. You can't do things well if you don't have patience. However, another question bothers me, how can we be patience? I think the way is try to accept these bad emotions, not defense. Another way is recognize that impatience has arisen, then change your mind. For example, when I stuck in traffic, I would feel very angry and nowhere to release, then I recognize that I'm "impatienting", so I start to think about why I need to angry? It's not make sense. Being angry can't solve the problem. In other word, there's nothing I can do. Why don't we use the free time listen music or plan to do another thing? Then I don't feel angry anymore. 

  Practicing to be patient is not easy, it's a long term marathon. However, it makes me change a lot. We need to have more tolerant to others and ourself. 

  

SAU1 Blog Post 2 - Artificial Intelligence,we need it, but we afraid it!

   

     Artificial Intelligence is a product of scientific and technological progress. Machine can has the same thinking and behavior patterns as human beings. It also can learn about new things and self-correction. AI can give us many convenient, it include big range, like we all know, siri on iphone. AlphaGo is another famous artificial intelligence,too. AI can calculate amount of data, doing complicate operation and induction.
However, many scientists and engineer are not in favor of developing artificial intelligence. Why we are so afraid of these machine? There also have many movie discuss about it. <I,Robot> and <Transcendence> are two of my favorite in these movies. Many people worry that artificial intelligence will prevail over humans and then control humans. When they have their own mind and emotion, we can't promise they will still listen our order. AI is smarter, stronger,cooler than human, so we afraid of it.
I think the development of artificial wisdom is necessary, but we must find a balance among it. Before we understand enough, we do not do dangerous try. There is the possibility of unlimited development in future.

SAU1 blog post 1 : Introduction: The 6th Extinction

 

   Since dinosaurs extinct, mammals are the most species in the world. However, the extinction is happening again, called the 6th extinction. Each extinction would wiped out almost species, include human being. Species are varnishing quickly and faster than our estimate. The research show that larger animal even vanish faster than smaller animal, such as whales or sharks. Furthermore, we all live in this planet, Earth.
  Our mother nature is dying now, but we don't seem to care about it. That's why I need to talk about this serious question. We should follow this important issue and next post will tell you more about the 6th extinction
 
 

Field Trip

This semester, teacher Thomas took us to the Li-yu lake where is in the Nantou. That day was pretty good day. The weather is good and very hot. When we arrived, I saw a cute dog in front of the door. I saw many beautiful view. The most impressive is there's a lot of peacocks in the cage. The peacock open his wings and it was very beautiful.There are many statues.My favorite is turtle.

Final Exam: Basic Income

About Basic Income

Last time, I talk about my doubt for basic income. However, it still have many people support this project. Basic income must has some pretty good benefits so that those people in favor of it.Basic income is that people can recieve unconditionally money every month. After getting these money, people can take better care of their children. They not only can have more time with family but also can have better quality of live. The poor no need to starve anymore because they have the stable money from government. It can reduce the hopeless people on the street, too. With more money, people can have more opportunity to make decisions in a democracy. It is because that people can have more time to participate in the public issue since they don't need to worry about money anymore. How good is it, right? There's another little suggestion. I think the government can give parents extra money for each child they care for, because we all know that keep a child is very expensive. Giving parents more money is reasonable,and it also can improve fertility.

My opinion of basic income

  Basic income may have many advantages, but we still have some questions about it. If we can't solve these problem, the policy would not pass easily.
  Everyone says that basic income can solve the poverty problem directly. However, I don't believe that the poverty can be solved so easily. If Taiwan really start to pay basic income for people, people can no longer work hard for life. You might think that is a good thing. However, if you are a boss? You won't. This is because that you need to pay more money and salary to hire a employee. As I see it, many boss will not keep staying in Taiwan. They can build new factories or companies in another country to lower cost, and it would cause significant damage to our economy. Second problem is, if we can stay in the air-conditioned office and do our jobs,who want to go outside and bask in the sun? Nobody want to do like as pick up the garbage, or clean the floor. That would be a problem.
  Although basic income still has some problem, we need to have good confidence for it. It still have many good points.We can't tar it as the same brush. Let us work hard to improve our country.
